About the Position

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for increasing sales volumes and market share of commercial vehicles in the assigned province/territory

Actively build and maintain relationships with existing and new customers and maintaining relationship with key customers

Generate leads through cold calling, customer visits, advertising and customer centric activities

Negotiate sale price within set parameters, including arranging any ‘trade-in’ evaluations

Refer financial and after sales services

Report to Sales Manager regarding reviews, analyses, objectives and planned activities

Review sales statistics and plan more effectively to improve sales

Deliver vehicle – Vehicle handover to be done in a professional way to all the customers

Confident and an outgoing personality

Good negotiating skills and a persuasive manner

The ability to explain technical information to people who are not experts

Good mathematical ability for working out costs

A genuine interest in Commercial Vehicles

Good IT skills and business sense

The ability to work to targets and deadlines and stay calm under pressure

Confidence to work alone without direct supervision


Solid knowledge of selling principles

Good financial skills

Co-ordinate activities and resources without constant supervision

Persuasive communication skills

Ability to work under pressure

Good time management

Valid Drivers’ license (non-negotiable)

Ability to work collaboratively

Experience with Commercial Vehicles – not necessarily sales

Multi-ethnic /culture team working and customer facing experience

Fluent in English; Afrikaans and/or African Language will be an advantage

Educational Qualifications:

Tertiary qualification (Diploma / Degree) in Sales/Marketing/Logistics/Transport Management preferred but recognition to prior sales experience will be given

Relevant Experience:

At least 1 year in sales/vehicle sales/commercial vehicle sales environment.
