Job Overview

One hundred graduates are hired into the programme annually into permanent roles across a variety of areas such as IT; quantitative and actuarial analysis; product and process design as well as various roles in risk and credit.

All graduates sped time in an in-depth induction, which includes meeting past graduates, getting to know each other through team building activities, as well as getting an overview of the bank’s structure, culture and values.  At the executive breakfast, graduates are welcomed by the FNB Exco and have a unique opportunity to network and meet the management team.

All grads start work in their business units straight away and get a chance to put their degrees into action. For the first six months, training takes place monthly and covers modules such as project management, career and personal development, business writing and more. One of the most important elements of the graduate programme, is the graduate project.

Teams are assigned real business challenges and have 8 months to design and implement a solution. Once training is completed, all graduates take part in an annual break-away to celebrate the milestone and look back on their journey so far. At the end of the year, grads go onto become part of the elite graduate alumni and are included in mentoring the new incoming group of grads.
